Umberto Cesari Wine Tasting and Lunch - A ride on a Vespa, the gentle hills of Romagna, a love at first sight between Umberto Cesari and the hills of Castel San Pietro Terme—this is how the story begins in 1964.

His interest in wine had started in his father Ilario’s tavern. Study, research, and passion then took him abroad, to the land of the great French reds, to learn the techniques of blending and aging in wood, which were unknown in the region at the time. These techniques are the foundation of one of the company’s iconic wines, Liano. A wisdom acquired as a self-taught individual with one goal: to make Sangiovese a great wine, with a focus on sustainable viticulture.

A history passed down through dreams and passion, a love for the land and care for its fruits, from the founder, Umberto Cesari, a determined man and a strong believer in the endless potential of the wines of Emilia Romagna, to the people who, over time, with their work, have built and helped the company grow.
